Sweet Iron bits are made of blue steel and release a sweet-tasting surface rust through contact with saliva, which stimulates the horse's saliva production in a natural way. This sweet surface rust will cause the horse to foam more and accept the bit better. When a Sweet Iron bit is temporarily not used, an orange-brown rust layer can form on the mouthpiece. This can be easily removed by wiping the bit with a damp cloth.
Loose ring
A straight mouthpiece consists of 1 piece and gives pressure on the tongue, layers and lips. The shape and thickness of the mouthpiece determine where the pressure will be. The straighter and thicker the mouthpiece, the more pressure on the tongue.
Waterford
The waterford mouthpiece consists of a series of rounded links that flexibly conform to the horse's mouth, creating an even pressure distribution. The Waterford mouthpiece is movable in all directions making it difficult for the horse to grasp the. A Waterford mouthpiece is not suitable for inexperienced riders, with a soft hand this mouthpiece is friendly but with a hard hand the bit can be sharp.
